Chii Dresses Up

So a friend of mine on gaiaonline recently saw a profile I made myself and was all impressed by the art (and the profile) and asked if I would make her one. This is the art that's going to go on it. I was super excited when she asked me to draw Chii from the Chobits anime series. I watched it for the second time a few months ago and ever since then I have been wanting to draw Chii but just haven't had a good excuse, and this was the perfect opportunity! Seriously, who wouldn't want to draw her? She's the most adorable anime character ever. I just want to hug her to death!

I don't think I quite captured her likeness as well as I wanted. I have a hard time mimicking specific art styles/drawing characters exactly how they really look. But I'm pretty happy with the results. The dress is a little....weird. I really need to learn to do folds/fabrics better. But I like the ruffles. SO MANY RUFFLES! GAH! Way too many layers went into her clothes, seriously. The vanity in the background was kind of a last-minute decision, but I'm glad I decided to put it in there. Kind of a nice touch and a good simple background all at once ^_^
